About me:

Alexandros Iacovides is a Cypriot artist, educator, and creator whose life has been shaped by one central idea: whatever you learn only has value when you pass it on. Rooted in music, movement, and writing, his work is not built around titles or trends, but around lived experience, curiosity, and the belief that art should be accessible to everyone, not protected behind gates.Born and based on the island of Cyprus, in the capital city of Nicosia, Alexandros has spent decades developing a multidisciplinary path that connects discipline with freedom, structure with expression & tradition with personal evolution.

Complete Legacy Biography:
Alexandros Iacovides – Legacy Biography:
I. Early Life & Foundations: Discipline, Motion, and Awareness
Long before stages, studios, or cameras, Alexandros’s foundation was built through martial arts.
- Began training in Wado-Ryu Karate at the age of 4
- Trained consistently for 17 years
- Achieved Black Belt level by the age of 21
This early immersion in martial arts shaped not only his physical ability, but his mindset: balance, timing, respect, repetition, and self-control. These principles later became the invisible framework behind his dancing, musicianship, and teaching philosophy where precision serves expression, not ego.
II. Dance: From Teenage Curiosity to International Presence
The Beginning
- Started dancing at 15
- Began teaching at 16, almost immediately sharing what he was discovering
- By 18, shifted focus decisively toward Latin dances, drawn by their musical depth, cultural richness, and human connection
Training & Expansion
At 20, Alexandros traveled to New York, USA, immersing himself in the roots of:
- New York Salsa
- LA Salsa
- Cuban Salsa
Shortly after, he continued his professional development in England, earning his ISTD Teachers Diploma in Latin Dances, grounding his experience with formal pedagogical structure.
X-pressions Dance School
- At 21, he founded X-pressions Dance School
- Location: Nicosia, Cyprus
- The school became more than a studio, it evolved into a space for:
- Education
- Community
- Artistic identity
- Musical understanding through movement
X-pressions reflects a philosophy Alexandros has repeated for years:
A dancer doesn’t just move to music a dancer helps people see music!
III. International Congresses, Shows & Cultural Events
Alexandros has represented Cyprus internationally through international congresses, shows, and cultural events, performing and teaching across many regions of the world, including:
- United States of America
- Lebanon
- England & Scotland
- France
- Italy
- Holland
- Greece
- Israel
- Oman
- African countries, including South Africa and Zambia
In Africa, his presence extended beyond performance, contributing to philanthropic work.
His international work reflects not just performance, but cultural exchange meeting people where they are, sharing movement as a common language.
IV. Music: Self-Taught, Self-Driven
Alexandros began learning guitar around the age of 20, completely self-taught. From the start, his relationship with music was exploratory rather than academic learning by doing, failing, adjusting, and trying again.
Within his first year, he had already written his first instructional guitar book, driven by the same instinct that defines his entire career:
If something helped me understand, it might help someone else too.
In 2007, he launched his YouTube channel, initially sharing his personal learning journey rather than presenting himself as a traditional “teacher.” Over time, this honesty and reliability resonated globally, and his audience grew into millions of learners worldwide.

VII. Teaching Philosophy & Life Mission
At the center of everything Alexandros does is a simple belief:
“My mission is to share everything I learn freely, making music and dance accessible to anyone who needs it, believing that knowledge only has value when it is passed on.”
He does not position himself as an unreachable authority, but as a fellow traveler someone committed to learning, improving, and inviting others along for the journey.
VIII. Legacy — A Life of Sharing, Not Accumulating
Alexandros Iacovides’s legacy is not defined by a single discipline, platform, or achievement. It is defined by continuity:
- Decades of discipline
- Thousands of shared lessons
- Millions reached through music and movement
- A career built on generosity rather than exclusivity
Whether through a dance floor, a guitar string, a written page, or a screen, his work continues to remind people that growth is personal & evolution should always be your own.
Quotes:
Be your own evolution… Not the translation of somebody else!
SHARE – LOVE – DO NOT HATE!
A dancer without a musical ear is like a chef without his taste.
NEVER GIVE UP!!
